Tropical Punch Started

My ANG chapter is doing Debbee's Designs Tropical Punch. I love the colors and am stitching this as designed without any changes in threads. Some of my friends have changed things and those are looking spectacular.

Color in this photo is a bit washed out.

Off to a good start. Let's see if I can keep up.

Interesting read. Lovely to see one so young and relatively new to embroidery win.

A Sheepish Finish

One more ornament finish. Got this done last night while waiting for my roommate to get done with her meeting.

We're at the Mid-Atlantic EGA regional meeting. I had a meeting yesterday at 3, grabbed a quick dinner, then my roommate had a meeting at 7.

This morning I'm in a beading class, then we have a lunchtime lecture followed by another meeting.

This is just the cutest ornament that I couldn't resist at work. Outlined the sheep with Planet Earth wool and then filled in with French knots in two strands of Burmilana. Canvas is available from Amanda Lawford.

A Desired Finish

This is number four of five ornament kits I purchased a few years ago in New Orleans at Garden District Needlework.

It was kitted with DMC floss and I made a few substitutions. Mostly with Pepper Pot silk. But my last green, the French knots and green around the pink flowers, is Baroque silk. I won't use that again on 18ct canvas. You have to use two of three strands and it wants to knot. I think I'd love it as is on 13ct.

Anyway. Love my little streetcar. Will eventually be turned into an flat ornament.

Sampler Guild Saturday

I love my meetings with the Loudoun Sampler Guild. It's the favorite meeting that I have every month. Today we're talking about photographing our needlework. Good info.

Plus some stitching time. I pulled out my Cindy Valentine piece from the July  2011 Needlepoint Now. It, by coincidence, is called Tropical Punch, which is the same name as the Debbee's Designs piece as I'm about to start with my ANG chapter.

Very cheerful for a gloomy day.
