Took the Metro to D.C. to visit the DAR for a Tuesday Talk on samplers.
The current exhibition is on early Maryland and Virginia quilts. Pictures are from the exhibit. The cherry tree is just a bonus from my walk home.

So I was at stitchy group this afternoon and we were reminiscing about stores that no longer exist. And someone was talking about about buying canvas in a department store when I shared these photos.
These are from today at my local Target.
One needlepoint kit. One embroidery kit. All under this handmade banner.
Just thought I'd share.
Last night at my Tuesday night group I finished a piece I started in February on my way to Hawaii.
It's a Melissa Shirley canvas of the Chinese Year of the Ox. It was a sale canvas I bought more for the colors than the subject matter. All basketweave and tent stitching mostly with Planet Earth silks. Love that stuff. Now to find the right fabric to make it into a pillow.
Below that is a photo of what some really rough canvas is doing to Neon Rays. This is a piece that I just set down on my canvas, picked it up, and set it back down.
Going to cover the canvas and try working this again. Sigh.
