I found some time on Thursday to finally start my experiment with needle felting on canvas.
The goal is to make a puffy shower cap for my shower kitty.
My idea is to needle felt wool roving in the puffy shape I want and then to cover it with Flair.
I used some beautiful wool roving that I had bought at one of the Sheep and Wool festivals. And I've got a block of foam under my canvas.
Pulling apart the roving, I used a single needle to felt it to the canvas.
All nice and puffy and correctly shaped. Now let's start applying the Flair.
So much fun. And it's working out just like I planned.

This looks great, Donna! What a good idea for making it puffy.
I love it!! What a creative idea!
It really does look like a shower cap--good job!
This is just TOO COOL! It looks great!
such an interesting experiment, I look forward to seeing it finished.
what type of needle did you use; i.e. larger/smaller than normal stitching, chenile/tapestry? Did you pierce the canvas?
Looks great so far!
