September 17th

Let's talk about flair. No. Not the fancy buttons on your shirt. Flair, the tubular nylon thread made by Rainbow Gallery. There's about 100 colors in this line which means you can usually find a color that works.

This cloud is stitched with white flair. It has a shine to it that's different from metallic shine. Not sure how well it photographs, but it's doing exactly what I want on this piece. A bright thing in the flat sky. No shading because this isn't a realistic canvas.
These jelly beans in the roof are also Flair. About three horizontal stitches underneath the slanted satin stitches gives enough padding to create a slightly rounded shape. I'm good without the white glint because of the shine to the thread.

And in a pinch, you can make Barbie doll panty hose from Flair.
