Good News

I may not be posting much. But I am stitching. That's good news.

Making Kimono progress slowly. Making Casket Etui progress slowly.

I needed something fairly brainless to take with me one day and I unearthed this UFO:

I loved this piece when I first saw it and was fortunate to have a fat quarter of the Autumn Gold from Lakeside Linens in my stash. Not going to finish it anytime soon, but it's nice that it's not totally forgotten.

Next week at guild we're having a class on finishing tin necklaces. It took me hours of searching, but I knew I had at least two of those necklaces in my stash. I finally found them. And one of them was the right size for this freebie project that was designed by Lisa of the Primitive Needle. I'm considering this a confluence of epic proportions:  1) I've wanted to stitch something by Lisa since she died last year, 2) wicked is word that I don't hear often enough as I don't live in New England anymore, and 3) I'll be able to wear it on Halloween at the EGA National Seminar in Santa Fe. I had originally considered stitching something else, but all those factors plus the fact that I had the called for silks in my stash...just meant to be, I guess.

And after searching for hours for the necklaces, I needed to stitch on something in my happy place, but wasn't ready to face over one stitching. And thus I dragged this Raise the Roof design out of obscurity. This was another of my Crazy January 2011 challenge pieces.
I think when I put this down I knew I had stitched the outline of the kite incorrectly. Well, that part has been removed. I decided to stitch the filling, then finish the outline. The color makes me deliriously happy.

Yup. That's pretty much my week. I've been contemplating the stash. While searching for the necklaces, I started a collection of things to destash next July at our guild's stash sale.

And I've missed my blogging anniversary. Which I will remedy soon. With a nice giveaway.

Keep calm and ply on.

I have Matter's choice in my stash. It's been sitting there since it first came out!
I loved seeing your progress. you have given me inspiration to move it up on the "to do" list!

I can't wait to see more of Wicked...if I do not have that pattern saved on a wishlist already, it will be :) Beautiful stitching so far.
