Tried to Post Yesterday But

Something was definitely wrong between my computer and blogger. As everything else on my end was working fine, I kind of have to assume a problem on their end.

First off - a thank you to my wonderful blogger friend, Anna, of the Stitch Bitch. I was the lucky winner of her May anniversary prize! Scored some fabric to help me with this big push I'd like to make on finishing projects. A lovely beaded fob. And a beautiful handmade card.

Don't remember what I was writing yesterday and my draft didn't save...let's see.

I finished the stitching on dragonfly fob on Thursday. Now to finish it.

I finished stitching the design on my hand-painted canvas and now need to do my background.

Wait. I remember. Yesterday I was trying to post about the fact that I'm taking a class with Ruth Dilts. It's her Art Deco piece called Mystic. Imagine this - I've gone with different colors. I managed to kit this in red with black. Not easy. No DMC perle 12 in red. I have instead a Mandarin floss that I can strand or Soie 100/3. One of these should work. I still need to find beads in black. Last two places I looked were out. And apparently Michaels no longer has Mill Hill beads? At least mine doesn't.

I'm glad the package arrived safely and that you like it! Do you have a bead shop nearby? They might not have Mill Hills but delicas can be substituted.

I like that piece. Even in the colors as shown. Not that I need another pattern! Maybe later.

Michael's may have beads from Toho in the jewelry section. You should check. I've used Toho's size 11/0 beads on 18 count successfully. They are larger than the Mill Hill Petites but only a tad bigger than Mill Hill's Magnifica's.

Look around the scrapbooking section. One Michael's in my area has jewelry beads and charms in scrapbooking, but in the other much larger store it has it's own section, but is still near scrapbooking.

I've got black delicas that I can use, but it's the medium size bugle beads that I really need to find. I've got time. As the beads are the last thing to do.

And our Michaels selection of seed beads by Toho or anyone is completely inadequate. Most of them were on clearance.
