Japanese Embroidery

While following a recommendation I stumbled to the fact that the Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta has a store!

Here you can purchase things like a Japanese embroidery frame which is similar to a slate frame. Flat silk. Handmade needles for goldwork. All kinds of metallic threads.

Color me impressed!

In fact, if you've never looked before, you should poke around their home website. All kinds of pretty things to look at.

Hello. This is the first time I have seen this blog about Japanese embroidery and I am glad that you like it. It is something quite special as we stitch on silk and use the finest silk threads and metallics to create wonderful embroideries.

One thing though - you have taken a picture of a greetings card of a portion of an embroidered kimono from my own website (www.japaneseembroideryuk.com) - which is not a part of the Japanese Embroidery Center, USA, and it is not one of their designs. Japanese Embroidery UK, is a separate organisation, although we are affiliated to the Japanese Embroidery Center, Atlanta.

Hi. It is so beautiful. I use a slate frame so I am just wondering whether I can use the slate frame for Japanese embroidery. Thank you.
