About the "mythical one project at a time stitchers"

First of all - the comment made me laugh.

I have personally known people like this. The first one I encountered more than 20 years ago and after we introduced her to cross stitch, she started methodically working her way through every Pat Buckley Moss design. The most time it took her was one month. I admit, she was a high achiever in a set of circumstances where she couldn't work and this was her substitute for working.

But we see them in my LNS. They only work one project at a time. And are very meticulous about choosing their next project. I am not certain they are as obsessive as my friend from years ago, but I suspect they are extremely focused individuals.

I have a friend that spends a lot of time planning what she is going to stitch next. She will only purchase charts for, and begin projects once she knows where they are going to hang in her house. Then she spends a lot of time debating fabric and thread colors. I always want her to just shake things up with something hot pink and tacky - just because she wants to stitch it. Just for fun.

I have a confession.. My name is Carrie and I am a one project stitcher... I don't know why I do this, it's not completely intentional.. but in my limited stitching time, it just feels wrong to choose between projects, so I like to start one and then finish it... :)

I have a confession... I am a one project stitcher! It just feels wrong to have multiple in-progress projects.. it's like working 2 puzzles at the same time!

I'm not mythical. But I am a one at a time person more by circumstances than preference. I have been working sequentially through projects this year because they have a deadline or I am traveling with only one project. I can't really rotate when I might be on an airplane on any given day. Some projects that I have started have been temporarily abandoned for something more urgent, but mostly I have started something and finished it.

I also personally know a one-at-a-timer. She doesn't even own future projects. I think that is SICK!

Well, by God, that just scares the heck outta me. "one project at a time".

ONLY ... ONE ... MIRA ... at a time? Puhleeze.

NOW I know why I don't have children. I probably misplaced them.
