Confirmation

I want to confirm here that I have finished my registration for EGA National Seminar in Santa Fe.

I'm one of the hundred or so that will have a spouse attending with me. He's not into golf, but he loves the southwest and there is no way I could go to New Mexico without him unless I wanted to get divorced. *joking*

I've been a very busy stitcher lately, but alas, I have no photos to share. There is a project that it pains me to work on because the lovely lady who started it has died. She had made a start on a wedding sampler that is a gift for another member. I have comes to terms with it and have begun the process of finishing this piece for her. I'm hoping to pass it along to others in my Tuesday Night group of stitchers so we can all share in stitching on it.

I've also been stitching some Montenegrin samples. I'll show this eventually.

And I've picked up an experimental bargello that I started like 18 months ago.

And I've joined my linen and started stitching on Cindy Valentine's Tropical Punch that was in July 2011 Needlepoint Now.

Colors are brighter than this photo! The directions were probably terrific as originally written by Cindy, but the edited version in the magazine leaves a little bit to the imagination. Doesn't give clear starting points. Or even spacing. And calls for the cretan stitch to be done with a Glorianna that is a Crescent Colour name. Makes me wonder sometimes.

But still it's very cheerful summertime stitching!

Wednesday Class

Had a nice class about embroidered buttons. Best part was the gorgeous ivory vest the teacher brought. She said this was once an EGA class. Holy smokes, this was beautiful. A quilted, satiny, all embroidered dream.

I made my button and then started doodling around on my fabric and came up with a new stitch involving lazy daisies and spider webs. Too funny.

And when I got home last night, I finished my Drawn Thread autumn scissor fob. Very cute. And how nice that I had that skein of Needle Necessities in my stash. As per usual, photo to follow.

Be Jealous

Today's fun is brought to me courtesy of our EGA chapter - we're picking up half the cost of a Catherine Strickler (of Indigo Rose) class. We'll be making her armchair pinkeep.

Let's be realistic. I'll be finishing mine sometime next year. Sigh.

But the good news is that I finished my HFH sampler and my kissing pillows that are our community outreach projects. And I made mini-muffins to bring this morning. I think I remembered everything I was supposed to do.

I did take a few photos yesterday. But I don't gots time to upload this a.m.
And when I get home later today, we'll be leaving for a baseball game.

Meanwhile, DS got his license this week. As he has demonstrated great highway driving skills, we had no problem with letting him and a friend drive to Busch Gardens today. (For those who don't know - he's 19. I'm not letting a total newbie with a brand new license loose to drive 200 miles one way.) The great news was our insurance did not go up by that much ($30 a month.) See what waiting a couple of years gets you. Huh. Who knew?
